I've been working with the team at Gold, based at the top of Portobello Road, since before their opening in the late spring of 2019. It's established itself as a vibrant community-strong restaurant and late-night bar: effortlessly cool in its aesthetics, but serving honest and rave-reviewed food, cooked mostly over flame. The food, interiors and people always ensure there is something beautiful to point the camera at.
Bar 44 is a Spanish restaurant group based across sites in Cardiff, Penarth and Bristol, run by brothers Owen and Tom Morgan. Through the last months of 2020 and into 2021, I worked with Tom and Owen to help realise a long-held dream of theirs: producing a book with which to showcase their incredible take on Spanish food and drink. Bar 44: Tapas Y Copas was a cookbook first for me, working as both photographer and designer. It is a collection of fantastic recipes and stories steeped in the gastronomic culture of the country they have so passionately celebrated for so long.

FISH, BRISTOL
FiSH is home to arguably the best classical seafood cooking to be found in Bristol. It's set on a Dutch barge – the former home of the city's iconic Glassboat restaurant. Fresh produce arrives from catches landed hours earlier by the day boats in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset. Whether it's beer-battered fish and chips with tartare sauce, scallops grilled in garlic butter, or a Provençal-style fish soup, everything here is done so very, very well.
